This School (Freedmen's Educational Institute) is designed to be a night school for men only - giving them instruction in spelling, reading, writing, arithmetic, geography, and such other branches & by practical lectures of a conversational character as will be of most benefit to adults. A reading room & a library will be established as soon as practicable in these rooms - open at all times of day & evening - particularly in the evening. [[strikethrough]] A class [[/strikethrough]] Arrangements are now being made for giving [[strikethrough]] state [[/strikethrough]] instruction to men who wish to give their whole time to study at stated hours during the day - not confined to regular school hours. And this is also designed to be the headquarters of a series of schools of like character in various parts of D.C.
