Dear Prof. Morse:

It is a long time since I have had the pleasure of seeing you, occassioned largely by my continued illness. I am glad too say that at present I am enjoying better health, and this condition has enabled me to resume certain work long deferred.

I have recently been going through the collections in my care, and have found some objects which seem to me to have closer relation to museums such as yours at Salem, rather than to the one to which my things are to go; so, I am taking the liberty of sending to your address by American Express, charges prepaid, fourteen small objects which, if acceptable, I wish you would add to the interesting collection of the Peabody Museum.

The one object in stone came from China.

The dagger from Java.

The small figure within the bronze case, and the circular brass pendant, came from Tibet.

The bronze seal, bronze figure, six sword guards and iron seal came from Japan; and
