Dear Miss. Cook:-

Absence from home has prevented earlier reply to your letter of December 18th.

Let me congratulate you upon the good beginning of your Washington mission. I hope you may eventually succeed in your desire to establish a truly fine Art Magazine.

Should you arrange with the National Society of the Fine Arts to publish "The National Art Magazine", I will cheerfully consent to the publication therein of an article on the Art Collection presented by me to the Smithsonian Institution, provided it is written by either Mr. Cortissoz or Mr. Kenyon Cox.

Wishing you the Compliments of the Season, I remain,

Yours very sincerely,
Charles L Freer

P. S. I return herewith, the letters from Mr.Ffoulke and Mr. Walcott.
