196 182 33 Ferry Avenue Detroit, Michigan, December 24th, 1907 Dear Dewing:- During the last little visit I had with you, you mentioned the fact that you had received word with some source that Miss Birnie-Philip intended to publish the letters of Whistler. Recently, I received from her direct, confirmation of that fact, together with the copy of a letter written by her Solicitors to the public. This letter has appeared in the English Press, and Miss Philip desires me to have it appear in America. Would it be too much to ask you to send it along to Cortissoz with a request that he inserts it in his department of the New York Tribune? Very sincerely yours, Charles L. Freer T. W. Dewing, Esq., 57 West 10th St., New York, N. Y.
