Yes, I think the present a very favorable time to invest the funds already on hand, and I should think that the purchase of first-class Railway Bonds, or very carefully selected Manufacturing Stocks, well worthy of consideration. One of the best securities of the latter class known to me, is the stock of Parke, Davis & Company of this City. The par value of its shares is $25.00. They now sell at about fifty, and the annual dividend is at the rate of eight per cent, thus netting four per cent upon the investment; but I believe the stock is very likely to increase in value, and will, within a few years, be worth a handsome advance.

I am pleased to know that yourself and Mr. Sanders are engaged upon the details of a working plan under which the Manuscripts can be made available for scholars, and I shall be much pleased to hear from you when all details shall have been fully considered.

Believe me, with kindest messages,
Very sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer
