Mr. Masuda. #2.

Hayashi and Ushikubo. They, of course, were delighted with the good message I gave them, and Mr. Midzuno promptly arranged for an interview with Embassador Takahira in Washington. He also agreed to write you concerning this important development in our work. I may add that we are actively engaged in securing prominent art lovers and Museum directors to act on our executive committee, and if all goes well the executive committee will hold its first meeting in New York sometime about the middle of March. When this committee is properly organized it will be enabled to write you officially all happenings up to and including the action taken by the committee at its first meeting, and I would add that a number of Museums scattered about the United States have already promised their co-operation, including the free use of Museum buildings. So, you see, things are advancing quite rapidly.

Believe me, with kind regards,

Yours very sincerely,
Charles L. Freer
