Detroit, Mich., 33 Ferry Avenue, October 30, 1907.

Dear Sir:-

During my recent visit in England, your letter, accompanied by the three photographs, were received at my residence. Today is the first opportunity I have had to reply.

I regret that I did not have the pleasure of meeting you while in Japan last spring, as it would have been a pleasure to make your acquaintance and to have seen your collection of fine arts. At the present writing, I cannot say definitely when I shall again visit Japan, but I hope the time is not too far off. When it happens I shall hope to see you and to have the pleasure of seeing your collection, and it may be that some of your art objects will appeal to me strongly enough to make purchases from you, but of course I cannot speak positively on this point without first having seen the objects themselves.

Believe me,

Yours very truly,
Charles L. Freer
