November 13, 1907.

My Dear Andy:-

Your good letter of October 18th came a few days and gave me much pleasure. I have wondered where yourself and Mrs. Graves were spending your time and in my own recent ramblings, I have fancied you both enjoying similar pleasures. What a fine time you have has since you left America. It seems to me you left Wall Street at a very opportune time. The denizens of the street must have passed many sleepless nights during the last few months. Later on business there will naturally become normal and existence in that unhappy centre possible. You, I hope, are through with it for all time.

I note your desire to engage in some enterprise in Europe and if I should hear of anything interesting to you of that sort, I will be glad to bear you in mind. I fear, however, I shall have little chance to render you any assistance. I retired from business seven years ago and an entirely "out of the swim" that I know very little of what is happening in active business circles.

After returning from Japan late last summer, I was at home for a few weeks and then made a hurried trip to England and France, returning about three weeks ago. I am now settled for the winter and am looking forward to putting in a sensible time with my collection and friends here. Life goes swimmingly
