Messrs Obach & Co
Gentlemen,

Our attention has been called to a paragraph recently published in the “Daily Mail” respecting the Peacock Room belonging to the late Mr F. R. Leyland, which is stated to have been designed by the late J. McNeill Whistler which we may inform you is absolutely incorrect, all that he did was to paint the Frieze and Peacock's. In fact we have the original architects drawing from which Whistler borrowed his work. We have thought it would be to your interest to place you in possession of these facts, otherwise you may be called to account.

Remain faithfully yours,
JM Mcfield Esq
