OBERLIN COLLEGE
OBERLIN, OHIO
THE DUDLEY PETER ALLEN MEMORIAL ART MUSEUM

CLARENCE WARD, Director
335 East College Street

Feb.6,1919.

Mr. Charles L. Freer,
Detroit, Michigan.

My dear Mr. Freer,-

A short time ago, three Chinese students of the Oberlin Graduate School of Divinity showed me a number of Chinese paintings in their possession and asked me whether or not I knew ofa possible market for them. While not myself familiar with Chinese work, I believe that the students are honest and thinking that there was a bare chance that you might care to see the paintings, I am taking the liberty of enclosing the list of them as made out by the young men themselves. Trusting that you will pardon this presumption on my part, I am,

Very truly yours,
Charles Ward

P.S. You may be pleased to learn that owing to the gift of our new Art Museum by Mrs.Prentiss of Cleveland, we now have an attractive place in which to display the paintings and other objects of Oriental art which you very generously gave to Oberlin some years ago. Should you chance to be in this vicinity, I would appreciate an opportunity to show you our Museum and collection here.
