Mr P'ang Lai Ch'en, #3.

I knew would appeal to even your high standards.

Since seeing you in China last, my health has, at frequent intervals, handicapped my activities, and during the last Christmas holidays a serious illness overtook me, and I came quickly thereafter to New York City for medical attention and care, and since then I have been unable to leave New York City, but I am hoping ere long to be able to go to the hills in the Berkshire district of the state of Massachusetts, or back to my home in Detroit, - so my address is, and will remain, #33 Ferry Avenue East, Detroit, Michigan.

You, I trust, are keeping in excellent health, and I hope that you have not experienced any serious business troubles from either the War World [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] or the various unfortunate uprisings and sorrowings in China.

With every good wish, I remain,
Very sincerely yours,
