Dear Sir:-

I have just returned from a European trip covering something over four months, and since my arrival I have read the correspondence you sent to my office during the latter part of June. After receiving your telegram I was advised of the death of my cousin, Mr. Charles Lang, and, of course, was shocked by the sad news. His disease was, of course, of an incurable nature but I was surprised at the short duration of his illness.

It was very good of you to advise me of the event and I now wish to thank you, and to ask for any further details you may wish to give me. I suppose and hope Mrs. Lang is left with ample means. I knew but little of his business affairs, but judge from what he told me at one time that he had sufficient to care for himself and family. I have an account with him and I suppose that a statement should be sent you as one of the executors. Am I right in this thought?

Will you kindly present to Mrs. Lang my sympathy and best wishes. If I can be of service do not hesitate to command me.

Very sincerely yours,
Charles L. Freer
