Rev. Isaac Taylor Headland,
Butler, Pa.

Dear Sir:-

I am much interested in the contents of your valued letter of September 12th which reached me this morning, and I hasten to say that it would give me great pleasure to see the pictures in your collection of Chinese art. It would also give me real pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am wondering if some time in the near future, it would be agreeable to you to make me a little visit in my bachelor home in this city, and bring or send with you your collection of pictures. If this could be arranged, I would, of course, be happy to pay all expenses of every kind and nature. Such a visit would enable us to make comparison of the two collections, and by this means we could determine whether or not the specimens in your collection would harmonize with those in my collection. We also could discuss many other matters of mutual interest.

If you cannot come to Detroit, I will very gladly go to Butler at almost any time agreeable to you, late in September or early in October next. Believe me

Very sincerely yours,
Charles L. Freer
