Mr. E. Hatoun,
Mooskey Street,
Cairo, Egypt.

Dear Sir:-

Your letter of December 12th, is received and noted. Ibrahim Aly, my dragoman, has written me recently concerning the matter in dispute between us, and his statement made me, differs materially from your letter. Your salesman also affirms, that he made no agreement to pay transportation charges and customs duty on the pottery. You also believe your salesman's statement.

Under all these circumstances, you doubtless feel, that the position you have taken in the matter, is correct. I on the other hand, am just as positive in my recollection of all the details of the purchase.

Now, I shall leave the matter of adjustment entirely in your own hands. I shall not accept any compromise in the matter. If you do not wish to refund the full seventy pounds due me, you may keep it along with your pottery. It will, perhaps, be quite as valuable to me in the future to know your method of dealing
