My dear Mr. Beatty:-

Your letter of February 9th, is received and carefully noted.

In order to minimize the risk of transportation, I deem it wiser that the portrait of President Roosevelt, by Gari Melchers, which you desire to borrow for exhibition, should be sent from Philadelphia directly to your Institute, so, I am enclosing herewith, an order for the picture on the Philadelphia Academy.

The blank which you required filled in, I have sent directly to Mr. Melchers, with the request that he make the proper entries and forward the same to you.

With all good wishes for your forth-coming exhibition,
I am,
Very sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer
