February 26th,1909.

My dear Mr. Evan:-
I regret, exceedingly, my inability to attend the dinner to be given in your honor, by the National Arts Club, on Thursday evening, March 11th. This important event is most appropriate and will reflect distinction upon the Club.

The great importance of your munificent offering to our countrymen, is, by degrees, being recognized and appreciated every where, all of which will surely increase with the coming years. Let me again express to you personally, my gratitude for my share of your great gift.

With kind regards, I remain,
Very sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer
