#33 Ferry Avenue, East, Detroit, Michigan. March 9, 1914. My dear Mr. Rathbun: While in New York last week, I took the liberty of sending to you a copy of a catalogue of Chinese, Corean and Japanese pottery now being exhibited at Knoedler's Galleries, 556 Fifth Avenue, New York City, under the auspices of the Japan Society. The exhibition is a truly remarkable one and the catalogue has been carefully prepared. I trust that the copy of the same sent to you will prove interesting. Should you happen to be in New York before the close of the exhibition, on the 21st instant, I should like very much to have you give the exhibition some of your time as the event is not only one of great aesthetic interest but it marks an epoch in the history of Far Eastern Art. Believe me, with every good wish, Very sincerely yours, Mr. R. Rathbun, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D. C. Newspaper Clipping enclosed.
