Merchant of Antiquities,
Guizeh Post Office,
Cairo, Egypt.

Dear Sir:-

I have just received word from the American Express Company, in whose care the watch was forwarded to the Credit Lyonnais of Cairo, that the officers of the Credit Lyonnais are unacquainted with you, and for this reason they did not take delivery of the watch from the Post Office. I have to-day written Mr. Victor C. Rhodem, who is in charge of the Foreign Department of the Credit Lyonnais in Cairo, telling him who you are, and asking him to take the watch from the Post Office and to deliver it to you in person. Now, in order to make it possible for you to get possession of the watch, I wish you would take this letter to the Credit Lyonnais, ask for Mr. Rhoden and present the letter to him, when he will give you the watch. In order to make the matter easy of accomplishment, you had better take with you to the bank, some well-known business man of Cairo, who speaks either French or English, so that you can be positively identified. I am sure, that if you would ask Mr. Nahman, he would accompany you to the Credit Lyonnais, identify you and thus help you to obtain the watch.

Trusting that you are keeping very well, I remain,

Sincerely yours,
Charles L. Freer
