April 27th. 1909.

Mr. S. Yamanaka,
C/o Yamanaka & Company,
68 New Bond Street,
London W. England.

Dear Mr. Yamanaka:-

I have your kind note of April 15th, enclosing a timetable of the Siberian Railway, and wish to thank you for your kindness. I have not decided fully, concerning my visit to China, but, I have it under consideration, and if I include that country in this year's journeying, I shall hope to be in Pekin during September and October. As you know, I have never been in any of the interior cities of China, and, I feel it important to see at least Pekin and remain there long enough to do some other interior traveling, should I deem it desirable to do so, after having investigated the possibility of a few of such trips. I would also like to see something of Manchuria and Corea, but, as both of these countries are entirely new to me, I am, as yet, entirely undecided whether or not to make the venture.

I have engaged passage on the Hamburg-American Steamer Amerika, sailing from New York on May 15th, and shall go direct to Paris.

After visiting there for a while, I shall spend some time in London, and then return to the Continent.

Trusting you are keeping very well, and with kindest regards, I remain,

Very sincerely yours,
Charles L Freer
