Galveston

Capt,
I herewith send you a list of the witnesses in the case of Imboden and would respectfully suggest that the Military Commission to be appointed for the trial, may assemble at this place if it suits the views of the Government, as most of the witnesses live a considerable distance from here and as they are all planters it will subject them to the greatest inconvenience to leave home for any length of time as their crops may suffer Lieut Himes says that he does not feel authorized to give them transportation from this to any other point.

The names are as follows:
Thos Goodwin
Sam Ragsdale
Thos Wilson
Major Dudley
Thos Anderson
Judge Davis
Doctor Faranholt
Doctor Hall
Maj. Loughridge

Corporal Stacy and a man of Co– 12th Ills Cavalry are also important witnesses, Dr Faranholt Thos Wilson and Maj Loughridge will be in Galveston tomorrow, and you can confer with them if desirable, Dr Faranholt is on his way to Europe

Very Respectfully
Your Obt Servt.
