Schools in he Alphabet, Primer, and 1st Reader, are in the Primary grade. 
Schools in the 2d and 3d Readers are in the Intermediate grade.
Schools in the 4th Reader are Grammar Schools.
High and Normal Schools are above the Grammar Schools.
