Dear Sir:- I am in receipt of your letter of the 20th instant, enclosing Mr. Freer's voucher receipted, also a statement of the packing charges and freight prepaid on the three cases of Mr. Freer's things shipped by Wheatley & Company, and I take pleasure in handing you enclosed herein, a draft on Parr's Bank, London, to your order for 42 pounds, 16 shilling in payment of the amount thereof as shown by the statement, and as requested am returning to you the receipts of D. Chapman and Geo. W. Wheatley & Company. I am very pleased to inform you that the remaining two cases shipped to the Smithsonian Institution on July 13th by S. S. "Campania", arrived safely, all the articles therein, upon opening the cases, have been found in good condition, of which I shall write Mr. Freer. Kindly receipt and return Mr. Freer's voucher also sent herein, and greatly oblige, Yours very truly, J M Kennedy
