My dear Mr. Prothero:- 
Your kind note of yesterday reached me this morning and I have just wired  you.

"Delighted to have you arrive here 6 P.M. next Friday. Writing." which I now beg to confirm.

I fear that you and Mrs. Prothero will find the very early start from Madison on Friday next a real hardship. On the other hand, I shall be very much pleased to have you arrive at 5.55 P.M., thus permitting us to dine and spend the evening together at my home.

My man will meet you with a carriage at the Michigan Central train upon its arrival and conduct you to my home, and I think that your suggestion to check your luggage through to Boston a wise one. Your hand luggage can be brought from the station by my man, thus saving you any annoyance in the matter. 

We have reserved for your accomodation a drawing room from Detroit to Boston on the train leaving Detroit at 3.40 P.M. on Saturday next. I find the price for a drawing room from Detroit to Albany is no greater than to Boston. Should you on arrival at Albany prefer to abandon the drawing room and take seats in a chair car, that will be at your
