Metropolitan Museum of Art,
New York, N.Y.

Dear Mr. Burroughs:-

I take the liberty of handing you enclosed herewith, an early pamphlet by Whistler entitled-
"Etching & Dry Points.
Venics.
Second Series".

with a butterfly, which, latter I feel, you would enjoy using for the cover of your forthcoming catalog, and I can add that Miss Philip authorized the use of the butterfly in this instance.

Will you kindly take care of the pamphlet and when through with it, return it to me, as you know, it is a rare little nugget.

Believe me,
Yours very truly,
Charles L. Freer
