My dear Mr. Kelekian:-

Your good letter of January 7th came in yesterday's mail and gave me pleasure.

I am glad that you returned to Paris safely, and I hope that your coming visit in Egypt will prove very successful.

I was in New York last week and learned from your brother that you stayed in New York a week after the time you had expected to have left New York, almost exclusively for the purpose of visiting me at Detroit. It is too bad that I was not more fully advised of your movements. Mr. Kennedy sent me your letter to San Francisco and stated that it was your intention to sail from New York on December 22nd. Owing to the fact that my arrival in Detroit was so close to the 22nd, I saw no way by which you could come to Detroit and return to New York in time to catch your steamer. Had I known of the additional week which you gave to New York, we could have arranged to have enjoyed a couple days with my collection.

As you know, I have added a considerable number of important specimens since you made me a visit some years ago. When you are next in this country, I shall hope to see you and at that time
