New York, N.Y.

Dear Tryon:-

Thanks for your kind letter of the 25th instant - I was glad to hear such excellent reports of your present exhibition at the Montross Gallery. I have been planning to reach New York before it finishes, but I am afraid it will not be possible for me to do so in time to use the show. I have decided to close my house on the 1st of February, so as to get a change of air and fresh environment elsewhere, but some personal matters will detain me here a little longer than was expected, and I fear the show in New York will be over before I reach there. Forever, I see it all in my mind's eye and know how perfect it must be.

The shipment of Oriental things will be address, as follows:
Hillyer Gallery,
Smith College,
Northhampton, Mass

and will go forward by American Express, charges prepaid, tomorrow.

I too, am thinking quite seriously of going to Atlantic City, and it would be delightful if we should happen to meet each other there. Friends of mine residing there, visit the place several times a year and speak most highly of the bracing air and soothing effect of the place.

With all good wishes to yourself and Mrs. Tryon, believe me,

Very sincerely yours,
