Dear Mr. Freer:-

Your very kind favor of today, inclosing check and voucher for $1500 in settlement for the oil painting by J. H. Twachtman is received and I beg to thank you for it. 

If agreeable to you, I will hold it until Monday when I will no doubt have word from Knoedler & Co. to whom I addressed a telegram this morning, as follows:-

Detroit, Mich., October 31st, 1908.
8:30 A.M.

M. Knoedler & Co.
355 Fifth Ave.
New York.

"Have decided to purchase Twachtman. Send by return express. Will send draft. Letter follows."
A.H. Griffith.

The letter simply repeated the telegram, adding that as soon as the picture was received, I would send draft, and explaning [[explaining]] that the decision to purchase had been reached after the shipment of the picture.

I will advise you immediately of any word received.
