Dr. Charles D. Walcott,
Secy., Smithsonian Institution,
Washington, D.C.

Dear Mr. Walcott:-

Your good letter of the 24th instant, reached me here a day or two ago, and I am much pleased to know that the President of the American International Corporation looks so kindly upon your plans for securing archaeological specimen to China during the construction of the railway lines now under contemplation. I sincerely hope that satisfactory arrangements can be made to prosecute the work, and if I can assist in the matter, do advise me.

I am here for only three or four days and am soon to return to New York to resume medical care.
With cordial greetings,

Very sincerely yours,
