Clarence M. Woolley, Esq.,
823 Park Ave.,
New York, N.Y.

Dear Clarence:

It will interest you to know that I have recently been spending three weeks here, during which time I have been giving personal attention to work formerly assigned to my executors.

So, you will appreciate the fact that even an old man can "come back" -- but as I dictate this I knock wood!

The work referred to in the first paragraph is really enjoyable, and I take pleasure in forwarding to your address four little art objects which I hope that Mrs. Woolley and yourself will accept with my compliments, and as slight tokens of the long-time relationship you and I have enjoyed. A list sent herewith, will give you a little information concerning the objects.

The painting is by an unknown Chinese painter, probably an early Ming artist but possibly by some unknown painter of the Yuan dynasty, and I trust it will help to decorate your country house.

The three pieces of pottery are Japanese and all are of respectible age - old enough to vote -- and have served their purpose
