Crops look well, but on account of the worm only half a cotton crop will be raised, corn is better than ever. F.M work about one half for wages and the other half for shares of the crop. wages range from $10 to $15. Specie, or 1/2 to 1/3 of crop.

"Include in your Report the operations of the State laws as applied to freed people, with special reference to the Apprentice Law, Vagrant Law, and Law regulating labor."

The State laws in regard to the above laws, are at present suspended, people preferring to refer cases to the S. Asst. Com. of the Bureau.
