Nothing to report under this head, beyond the remarks made in my report for the month of October 1867-

EDUCATION.
"Report the feeling upon the subject of education; what steps have been taken to promote the same; what efforts the freed people are making in that direction and in what manner they may be assisted, &c., &c."

I regret to be compelled to report, that owing to the protracted illness of the Teacher, W. Lewis & the fact that he resigned, & my inability to find a suitable person to take his place (all of which I have reported directly to the Sup't of Schools) that the School at this place still remains closed; the freedpeople are exceedingly anxious for Education, & the only serious difficulty in the way of their advancement, within my knowledge, is the impossibility of procuring here, suitable persons to teach the Schools-
