1/2 corn & 1/2 cotton. Freedmen get 1/3 of the crop when fed and 1/2 when they feed themselves - Few work for wages - When they do they get 73 cts or $1.00 per day or $10 to $20 per month and provisions

"Include in your Report the operations of the State laws as applied to freed people, with special reference to the Apprentice Law, Vagrant Law, and Law regulating labor."
