Corn, will be the principle product raised in this county this season.  Cotton will not be cultivated as extensively as last season at the present time, some portions of crops have been planted, a considerable quantity of land is ready for planting. 


Very few work for wages, some for a third and employer furnishing them their rations - and everything necessary for cultivating a crop. Some work for one half of the crop, and furnish their own provisions, and one half their feed for [[learning]].

A large number work for half of the crop, planter furnishes everything, and they feed themselves,  Some have bought land, and some rented at one fourth, for rent.

A large number of contracts are completed and on file in this Office.

"Include in your Report the operations of the State laws as applied to freed people, with special reference to the Apprentice Law, Vagrant Law, and Law regulating labor."
