"Report the disposition and feeling of the white people towards the freed people as expressed by words and actions."

EDUCATION.
"Report the feeling upon the subject of education; what steps have been taken to promote the same; what efforts the freed people are making in that direction and in what manner they may be assisted, &c., &c."

The Freedpeople evince great anxiety for the education of their
children. There is a good school house (partly erected by the Govt) and a freed woman is the teacher.

They are very desirious that a teacher should be sent - them by the Bureau and in case that was done - I think in a short-time it would become self-supporting.

I would respectfully ask that a teacher may be sent to this school.
