| Dec 4th | John F McLendon (white) | Ben Scoggins (colored) | Scoggins was shot through the side, (said to have been my accident.) but is getting well.  A warrent was issued by Justice Garrett for McLendon's arrest but was never served. He has left the county. |

| Dec 20 | James Hensley James H. Hardeman (white) | Charles Harris (colored) | Harris was shot dead without any provocation whatever, by Hensley, who made his escape after a close pursuit by myself Ben Brown and others.  Hardeman was arrested for firing upon Harris at the time, and found over by the examining Court to answer to an indictment by the Grand Jury of the next District Court.  |
