Evanston Nurse Weds in Double Ring Ritual

In a double ring ceremony held recently at Ebenezer AME church, Evanston, Miss Lorraine Edelen exchanged wedding vows with James Leftenant jr. The Rev. U.S. Robinson officiated.
The former Miss Edelen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Edelen Sr., 1407 Emerson, Evanston, while the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Leftenant Sr. of Amityville, Long Island, N.Y.
The bride wore a gown of white tulle trimmed with seed pearls and a finger tip length veil. She carried a colonial bouquet centered with a white orchid.
Her attendants, Mrs. George Clark, Miss Joan Leftenant, Mrs. William Morton and Miss Doris Robbins, were attired in ballerina length gowns of blue tulle. Shrimp Tulle
Miss Thelma Plane, cousin of the bride, was the maid of honor. She wore a gown of shrimp colored tulle.
Charles Leftenant served his brother as best man. The ushers were James Edelen jr. and Thomas Edelen, brothers of the bride, Henry Plane jr., cousin of the bride, and Herbert Leftenant, another brother of the groom.
The bride, a registered nurse, attended Lincoln university in Jefferson City, Mo. She was graduated from the Lincoln School of Nurses, New York. Mr. Leftenant is a policeman on Long Island, N.Y.
Pre-nuptial entertainment included a linen shower given by Mrs. Allen Lee and Mrs. William Morton; a kitchen shower given by Mrs. Robert Elmore.
Also the bridal dinner given by the parents of the bride before the wedding.
Out-of-town guests included Mrs. James Leftenant Sr., Capt. Nancy Leftenant of the USAF Nurses corps, Misses Clara Leftenant and John Leftenant, all of New York; Mr. and Mrs. Silas Mackey and Mrs. S.A. Gibson, Detroit, Mich.
Also Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Patrick, Columbus, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keene and their son Cameron, Indianapolis, Ind.; and Miss Lucille Mulligan and Richard Mulligan, Louisville, Ky.

OFF THEY GO on a motor trip to New York where they will make their home. These newlyweds pictured after their recent marriage in Evanston are Mr. and Mrs. James Leftenant, Jr. She is the former Miss Lorraine Edelen.
