MOVIE STARS "ON LOCATION" AT TAH THIS WEEK

Miss Nitsuko Kimura, Life Cover Girl and Daiei Motion Picture Star of their forthcoming vehicle "Forever My Love", will be here in the Hospital this week for actual shooting scenes for the movie. The script calls for the hero, PAT (Christopher Drake) a soldier from Korea, to be an orthopedic patient. On Ward 21 C and the outside grounds will be where most of these scenes will be filmed.

The corridors, gardens and other hospital scenes have been taken to enable the workmen at the studios to reproduce an authentic set of Tokyo Army Hospital.

The original script and scenario, written by Mr. Paul Sloane of Hollywood is being directed by him, in conjunction with the movie magnates from Daiei Studios.

The movie portrays the American soldier in Japan as a part of the Occupation, and is being produced in the spirit of good will and friendliness for the two countries.

Capt. John R. Dickson, Hq, PIO has been assigned as Technical Advisor for the film, and the PIO section here is assisting for the hospital scenes.

Tower Cartoonist

In this issne [[issue]] the Tower would like to introduce Cpl. Walter Avizinis who will be doing the Towers bi-weekly cartoons. To give you a preview this article is illustrated by some of his work.

Walt was born and raised in Providence, R. I. At an early age he proved that he was artistically inclined; however, Ma and Pa Avizinis didn't think that the place for him to display his art was on the homestead walls, thus for a while his artistic experiences came to a halt.

They say "where there's a will there's a way" and after graduation from school our boy landed a scholarship at the Rhode Island School of Design. After two years of study there he moved on to the Vesper George Art School in Boston, Mass.

As a commercial artist and a contributor to Colliers and magazines like Gladiator and the fun book T. N. T., things were looking up and he even had a few pennies left over for a beer or two. One bright morning over coffee, while looking through his mail and sneering at the rejection slips, he ran across an official looking letter. It didn't look like a bill so he opened it. It read, "Greeting from the President-". Next we find Walt, much wiser, with the 140th A. A. A., 40th Div., in Korea.
