Dear Sir:-
I have this day paid the Western Union Telegraph Company, for Mr. Freer's account, $41.56, being the expense in connection with cabling Mr. Freer regarding the loan of some of his pictures for the Corcoran Gallery of Art exhibition, and as requested by you. I beg to hand you herewith, itemized bill therefor.

In as much as I did not loan the pictures asked for this Collection of expenses from the Corcoran Gallery should not have been made - Please refund the amount to Mr Mimmigerode and explain that the bill was sent in my absence -
