It is agreed, that the property be warranted by the assured free from any charge, damage, or loss, which may arise in consequence of a seizure or detention, for or on account of any illicit or prohibited trade, on any trade in articles contraband of [[?]] and warranted by the assured free from any [[?]] or other bailer, who may be held for duty loss at damage hereto, and for merchandise shipped under a Bill of Lading containing a stipulation that the carrier may have the benefit of any Insurance therein: and that any insurance [[?]] granted herein, shall not cover where [[?]] assured or any
carrier or other bailee has five insurance which would attach if this policy had not been issued.

In the event of damage occurring during the voyage notice shall be given in writing to the Corporation or its Agents (if any), at the Port of arrival, previous to survey.

Grounding in the Suez Canal shall not be deemed to be a stranding.

It is expressly declared and agreed that the acts of the Insurer or Insured in recovering, saving, or preserving the property insured shall not be considered a waiver or acceptance of abandonment.

BY THE GOVERNOR AND COMPANY OF THE LONDON ASSURANCE.
In the Name of God. AMEN. Messrs Samurai Shokai
Yokohama as well in their own Name, as for and in the Name and Name of all and every other Person or Persons to whom the same doth, may, or shall appertain, in part or in all, doth make Assurance, and causeth themselves and them and every of them to be assured, lost or not lost, at and from Yokohama to San Francisco thence per rail to Detroit, Michigan.
With liberty to touch, stay, and trade at all usual intermediate Ports and Places, including the risk of boats to and from the Ship. Warranted free of capture, seizure and detention, and the consequences thereof or of any attempt thereat, PRIVACY EXCEPTED, and also from all consequences of riots, civil commotions, hostilities or warlike operations, whether before or after declaration of War. 
upon any kind of Goods and Merchandize or Treasure whatsoever, and also upon the Body, Tackle, Apparel, Ordnance, Munition, Artillery, Boat and other Furniture, of and in the good Ship or Vessel, called the s/s Jerry Hariston ohet A. A. steamer and rails whereof is Master (under God) for this present Voyage, or whoever else shall go for Master in the said Ship or Vessel, or by whatsoever other Name or Names the said Ship or Vessel, or the Master thereof, is or shall be named or called; Beginning the adventure upon the said Goods and Merchandizes from and immediately following the loading thereof aboard the Ship or Vessel, at Yokohama and upon the said Ship or Vessel, &c., and so shall continue and endure during her Abode there, upon the said Ship or Vessel, &c. And farther, until the said Ship or Vessel, with all her Ordnance, tackle, Apparel, &c., and Goods and Merchandizes whatsoever shall be arrived at Detroit, Michigan And upon the said Ship or Vessel, &c., until she hath moored at Anchor Twenty-four Hours in good safety, and upon the Gods and Merchandizes or Treasure until the same be there safely discharged and landed. And it shall be lawful for the said Ship or Vessel, &c., in this Voyage to proceed and sail to, and touch and stay at any Ports and Places whatsoever, within the limits of the above Voyage, for necessary provisions, assistance and repairs, without prejudice to this Assurance. The said Ship or Vessel, &c., Goods and Merchandizes, &c., for so much as concerns the Assureds (by Agreement between the Assureds and the LONDON ASSURANCE), are and shall be rated and valued at Gold Yen Three Hundred only

which shall be proved in case of loss (which God forbid). Touching the Adventures and Perils which the said LONDON ASSURANCE are contented to bear, and to take upon them in this Voyage; they are of the Seas, Men of War, Fire, Enemies, Pirates, rovers, Thieves, jettizons, Letters of Mart and Counter-Mart, Surprizals, Takings at Sea, Arrests, Restraints, and Detainments of all Kings, Princes, and People of what Nation, Condition, or Quality, soever; Barratry of the Master and .Mariners, and of all other Perils, Losses, and Misfortunes, that have or shall come to the Hurt, Detriment, or Damage of the said Goods and Merchandizes, and Ship or Vessel, &c., or any part thereof. And in case of any Loss or Misfortune, it shall be lawful to the Assureds, their Factors, Servants, and Assigns, to sue, labour and travel for, in and about the Defence, Safeguard, and Recovery of the said Goods, Merchandizes, and Ship or Vessel, &c., or any part thereof, without prejudice to this Assurance;  To the Charges whereof the said LONDON ASSURANCE will contribute according to the Rate and Quantity of the Sum herein Assured, And it is agreed that this Writing or Policy of Assurance shall be of as much Force and Effect as the surest Writing or Policy of Assurance heretofore made in Lombard Street, or in the Royal Exchange, or elsewhere in London. And so the said LONDON ASSURANCE are continued, and do hereby promise and bind themselves and their Successors to the Assureds, their Executors, and Administrators, and Assigns, for the true performance of the premises; confessing themselves paid the Consideration due unto them for this Assurance by the Assured at and after the Rate of Five eight per Cent.
IN WITNESS whereof, we, the Agents of the said LONDON ASSURANCE, have hereunto subscribed our names in YOKOHAMA, and the Sum or Sums by us assured to be hereunder written, this Fourteenth Day of February in the Tenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord EDWARD VII. by t he Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of the British dominions beyond the Seas King, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India, and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Ten.
Free from all Average on Corn, Flour, Fish, Salt, Saltpetre, Fruit and Seeds, except General or the Ship be stranded, sunk or burnt.
Free from Average on Sugar, Rum, Hides, Skins, Hemp, Flax, Rice, and Tobacco, under, Five Pounds per Cent. And on all other Goods, the freight and Ship, under Three Pounds per Cent., except General, or the Ship be stranded, sunk, or burnt.
And further, the said LONDON ASSURANCE doth hereby covenant, promise, and agree, and oblige themselves, in case of Loss happening (which God forbid), to satisfy and pay the sum of money by us so Assured, in New York after proper notice is given to Messrs. Chubba Lan at the exchange of 49 1/2 per S. Y. without abatement, agreeably with the tenor of this Policy, and according to the established practice in such cases.
With particular average Including risk of fire for 7  days before shipment at Kasoba, 7 days after landing.
