My dear Sir:

Referring to your letter of the first instant, I beg to say that the three cases and four tables which were announced by Messrs. Charles F. Biele & Sons Company, New York, under date of November 30, as having been shipped to the National Museum, were received promptly and have been unpacked and inspected. The pieces are, as stated in the Biele Company's communication to you, as follows, the measurements being exterior:

2 — 6-foot all glass center cases
1 — 8-foot all glass center case
3 — 6-foot ebonized tables
1 — 8-foot ebonized table.

A careful inspection of the furniture shows it to be in good condition, except for a small nail hole at the lower edge of the molding of the 8-foot case. The
