Feb. 24, 1894.

Mr. Peter B. Blain,
Box 24, Kentwood, La.

Dear Sir:

Mr. Hecker is now in Egypt, and in his absence I opened your letter of 20 inst. addressed to him. I am sure that, if he were here, he would be pleased to give you a letter of recommendation and would be disappointed to learn that your employment in the south has not proved more remunerative.

In view of your long employment with us and your knowledge of the planing mill business as well as because of my personal regard for you, I send you herewith a letter which may be of service to you.

With best wishes for your success, I remain,

Yours very truly,
C.L. Freer
