My dear Prof. Wars:

Mr. Dunsmore called this morning and showed me a letter received from Mr. La Farge, dated Oct. 11, copy of which please find inclosed herewith. From this I fear that our man, Mr. Holslag, has not yet received definite information from Mr. La Farge as to whether or not he will be accepted as one of the Museum advanced painting class. Mr. Dunsmore wrote Mr. La Farge yesterday and stated that Mr. Holslag will finish at the Boston Public Library next week and will then be ready to enter Mr. La Farge’s class if his work entitles him to membership.

I write you these few lines to ask your kindly interest in Mr. Holslag’s behalf. We are anxious to have this young man come under Mr. La Farge’s direction and trust that the quality of his work is such as to entitle him to this privilege.

With kindest regards, I remain,

Yours very sincerely,
Charles L. Freer
