Yesterday morning Col. Hecker sent me over that very beautiful loving cup. As soon as I saw it, I concluded you had chosen it. I could see evidences of your work, first, in the selection, and next, in the marking.
 
The Tryons are still with me and are having a good time. Theyenjoyed [[they enjoyed]] the pastel very much, also the loving cup, and request me to send their kindest remembrances to yourself and Mrs. Dewing. Am receiving some very charming acknowledgements from the little Christmas “nuggets”.
