My dear Mr. Whaley:

Permit me the pleasure of introducing to you my personal friend and business associate, Mr. Frank J. Hecker, who visits your city for the first time and intends to spend a few days in enjoying the sights of Paris.

Mr. Hecker was formerly associated with several American railroads, and his long time connection with our car-building interests has kept him in touch with American railways and their managers.

I take great pleasure in commending Mr. Hecker to your kind courtesies, and am confident that the acquaintance will prove mutually agreeable.

With cordial greetings, I remain, my dear Mr. Whaley,

Very sincerely yours,
Charles L. Freer

Mr. Geo. Whaley,
Chief Eng’r, Western R’y of France,
Paris, France.
