83 (X) Jan. 11, 1894. Messrs. Bowen, Douglass, and Whiting, Moffat Building, City. Gentlemen: Your letter of 10th inst. addressed to Mr. Hecker and inclosing another letter from Messrs. Connelly & Taylor, dated Jan. 2, came in to-day's mail. Mr. Hecker is now en route to Europe and is expected to be gone until April next. As you know, he has familiarized himself with all the details of the Batdorf case, and I trust you can arrange with Messrs. Connelly & Taylor to let the matter rest until Mr. Hecker returns. Yours truly, C.L. Freer
