Mr. J.W. Griffith,
Gen’l Pur. Ag’t, U.P. System,
Omaha, Neb.

Dear Sir:

Referring to your letters of Jan. 23 and 30, 1893, in order to clean up the old balance standing on the books of the Peninsular Car Co. against your road, we have decided to accept the proposition named in your two letters above referred to. Our claim is for $5.00 per car on 1450 cars, amounting to $7,250.00, less the amount of your bill for the brakes, $4,000.00, balance due, $3250.00. If you will make voucher in our favor for that amount and send check promptly, we shall be pleased to receipt and return the voucher and close up the matter, although it is done at a loss to us of $7,250.00.

Yours truly,

Peninsular Car Co.,
C.L. Freer
Treas’r.
