Their condition, capacity, value, and by whom owned? 4 in the city of Augusta in fine condition, owned by the Bureau and capable of seating 150 Scholars each. Those in the other places are owned by private parties and are generally poor and unsuited for the purposes for which they are used.

9. Number and names of places, now destitute, in which Day-Schools might be organized? Waynesboro, Burke Co Ga.  Millen Burke Co Ga.  Raisbridge, Burke Co Ga.  Louisville Jefferson Co Ga.  White plains Green Co Ga.  Scull School Factory, Green Co Ga.  Raytown, Taliaferro Co Ga.  Mayfield, Warren Co Ga

10. Number of pupils (estimated) who would attend such Schools? The places named are all prominent points from 50 to 100 pupils could be got to attend at each place. It is not thought however they could aid the Schools 
financially. 

11. Amount which would probably be raised by the Freedmen, for school purposes, in each destitute neighborhood? Very little

12. What efforts are you making to secure the support of schools by pupils, parents, boards of education, or the State government? In Richmond Co Ga. last year, the teachers of the AMA went before the County board and received certificates which it was supposed would enable them to have their share of the poor School fund, but the Ordinary of the County now thinks that they are not entitled to any because they were employed by an association to teach.

13. Whole number of additional School-houses, for Freedmen, now wanted in your Sub-District? Definite reports upon this subject have not been received from the Agents

14. Could you organize your Sub-District into School Districts, each with a School Committee pledged to carry on schools therein? I think not with any efficiency. Schools for freedmen must for a while be supported from without.

15. To what extent would help from without be needed in such cases? entirely

16. What is the public sentiment as to the education of the Freedmen and Poor Whites? Not encouraging

17. Are Night-Schools for Adults needed in your District? 
In what way could they be carried on? in the large towns and more densely populated neighborhood, nearly all effort of this kind have proved failures for the reason that teachers are generally incompetent

18. What more can this Bureau do for educating the children of Refugees (or Poor Whites)? a great deal if it has the means to establish schools and continue to conduct them.

19. How long will Northern charitable aid be needed for Freedmen and Refugee Schools of your District? until there is a change in the public Southern sentiment
