on Education of Freedmen and Refugees in Sub-District, State of Georgia in charge of W.F. White for the Month of October 1868, [in accordance with order contained in Circular No. 5, Bureau R., F., & A.L.]

Their condition, capacity, value, and by whom owned? 
Owned by the Freedmen & will accommodate 1/150 Church 6/40 each

Sabbath? Twice 

8. Number of educational meetings held by you during the month? -
Where? The society in Thomasville will hold meetings every week & are making every exertion to secure a schoolhouse 

9. Number and names of places, now destitute, in which Day-Schools might be organized? Seven, including Thomasville the AMA have sent no teachers yet.

10. Number of pupils (estimated) who would attend such Schools? Except Thomasville would probably average 40 pupils

11. Amount which would probably be raised by the Freedmen, for school purposes, in each destitute neighborhood? Very uncertain they promise $1.00 per pupil per month but many are not able to pay.


12. What efforts are you making to secure the support of schools by pupils, parents, boards of education, or the State government? Am trying to make them self sustaining

13. Whole number of additional School-houses, for Freedmen, now wanted in your Sub-District? Two one at Barton & one in Thomasville.

14. Could you organize your Sub-District into School Districts, each with a School Committee pledged to carry on schools therein? Thomas Co is school associations are formed in several when there sufficient freedmen to sustain a school 

15. To what extent would help from without be needed in such cases? Teachers with salary paid

16. What is the public sentiment as to the education of the Freedmen and Poor Whites? No public opposition

17. Are Night-Schools for Adults needed in your District? yes
In what way could they be carried on? On large plantations they could be carried on successfully. Also on the line of South Ex & Florida R.R. which is now being built. a good point for a working man 

18. What more can this Bureau do for educating the children of Refugees (or Poor Whites)? Assist in building schoolhouses & furnishing teachers

19. How long will Northern charitable aid be needed for Freedmen and Refugee Schools of your District? Until a free school system is fully established
