On this, Mr. A and I concluded a settlement of the whole matter this morning, and I gave him possession of the place, Mill &c. with the exception of a room or two in the House for a day or two, and the old kitchen which is occupied by an old sickly family formerly belonging to the place, and which I am prohibited from giving up at present, as you will see by an order from the War Dept. Nov. 30 1865, a copy of which is herewith enclosed,
