I have the honor to make the following replies to the questions in com. from your office dated 8th June and addressed to Capt. A.S. Flagg A.Q.M. and Supt 1st. 

The whole no. of acres of land included in the Govt. farms in this Dist, when Capt. Flagg assumed charge of it was (15,979) Fifteen thousand nine hundred and seventy nine, of which (4,055) Four thousand and fifty five were capable of being cultivated. Of the land capable of being cultivated only about one half, or about (2000) two thousand acres were actually tilled, and it is estimated by Mr. Jackson then Supt of all Govt. farms, that fully (1/2) one half of all the products of the farms were stolen by the Hundreds of people (colored) clollected [[collected]] on
